New
Sticker Tag Technology Introduced
The Southern Connector will be
issuing the next generation of Palmetto Pass toll
transponders in 2012. The new transponders or "Sticker Tags"
as they are known, are much smaller and thinner that
previous transponder models. They perform at a high rate of
accuracy, have no internal battery, and are less obtrusive
on windshields. They can be disposed of in an
environmentally friendly manner.
The Southern Connector has also upgraded the hardware
necessary to process both the new Sticker Tags and the older
transponders.
The Sticker Tags we issue are valid ONLY on the Southern
Connector.
At this time, the new Sticker Tags will NOT be accepted on
the Cross Island Parkway in Hilton Head. Motorists using the
Cross Island Parkway will not be issued a Sticker Tag.
Instead, they must use a hard case transponder that can be
read by both agencies. Motorists applying for a new account
or exchanging their old PalPass, MUST inform the Southern
Connector Service Center of the toll roads they plan on
using. Failure to do so may result in the issuance of Toll
Violation Notices from the Cross Island Parkway.

instructions) are available by
